This addition to the IU Health North Hospital Campus in Carmel, Indiana had a unique set of design requirements due to the unique needs of the families being served. This two-phase project impacted the entire campus to make room for the Cancer Center wing building expansion. New parking was developed on the north side of the site and existing drop off sequences for the Emergency Department, and the OB wing were modified. New site circulation and parking that responded to the overall campus vision while keeping the patient needs at the forefront resulted in a client-focused solution. Healing gardens and significant plantings around the building addition provide biophilic views from patient treatment rooms, as well as offer outdoor respite areas for families and caregivers.
